Learning to Use WordPress

What is RSS?

Normally we are used to enter the Internet for information and to find a website that gives us what we want, just keep it within our "Favorites" and then come back for more information.

This is a normal task including data require constant updating to keep us informed, either with daily news, New Computer, Buy and sell cars, or new material is posted on our sites of interest.

Now, we say no you need to go find the new articles published on these sites.

What we want to convey is that thanks to advances that are generated on the Internet, you can now get all the news published on their sites without having to enter each of them, sometimes losing valuable time in Regarding entering a site and check for any new article published or not.

The time this takes, if we have several sites selected to go, a lot and at times we fail to complete this task.

The new method is called " Really Simple Syndication ", in Castilian," Really Simple Syndication "or" RSS "(also called" feeds ").

With this new system, rather than forcing the reader to go to the content, it takes the content to the reader.

What is it this new way?

A system will collect new information from sites that you require and send it. Amazing, no?

In this way, you'll save lots of time and just be dedicated to reading what you really want, which is freshly published information.

How to make this work?

First you need a "feed reader or aggregator", which can be both an online website as an application on the desktop of your computer.

If you have an email account at Gmail, or use any other Google service, and have access to Google Reader . Just go to the homepage and enter your password.

Once this reader, you can go to find the information you normally search the Internet, but this time will be attentive and look for the icon that characterizes this tool.

You have probably already seen these icons in many places that you have entered above.

These are links that will enable the ability to send all information to be updated on this site to your "reader".

Remember not necessarily subscribe to the full site, but can receive only the news sector of the site that interests you.

For example, you do not receive any information from a site of "Automotive Sales" if only interested in the Truck Van.

You must go to the relevant sector to provide the same information and look for the logo of "RSS" so that each time we release a new truck you get that information into your reader.

RSS links are in almost all internet sites, just a matter of finding them. They are usually in the foot or the top of a page , or sidebars.

Just look for the characteristic orange icon.

With this link you can do two things: copy the address and paste it into your reader, so it is automatically subscribed. Or you can click on the link to "RSS" and your browser will give you several service options: choose your "reader" preferred and ready.

Once you have your reader in every page you want to "follow", simply enter when you want and the service will notify you of all new content.

With this new method, you never have to waste time visiting sites because from that moment on, everything will be in one place.
